Here’s an update on what is going on with Black Hills Paddlers and the proposed Whitewater Playpark on Rapid Creek.
Today we took the second step towards realizing our dream when an application to create a formal entity called Black Hills Paddlers Inc, was submitted to the state. This group was organized as a South Dakota non-for profit corporation.
Rapid City needs a whitewater park! Many area boaters are working on just such an animal, here's the scoop.
First the backstory, last fall Paulette Kirby went to Casper Wyoming, while there she saw whitewater play park the City Casper had built on the Platte River. Like any good boater should she happened to have her boat with her. Go gearing up, she jumped in her boat and Got Some. Upon returning to Rapid City she spent many a night dreaming of that days fun consequently an idea formed.
